The Canadian Great War Society Archives is thrilled to welcome their longtime friend, renowned military historian Andy Robertshaw, for a fascinating evening behind the scenes of Steven Spielbergs, "War Horse". Andy has been a great friend of their society for many years, and they've had the privilege of working alongside him on film sets, historical events and public programs. Now, he's travelling all the way from Europe to Canada to share this incredible story! Through rare photographs, behind the scenes stories and his own experiences working on the production, Andy will reveal how the history of the First World War was brought to life on the big screen. What was it really like working behind the scenes of War Horse? How did they recreate the trenches, uniforms, equipment and battlefields? And how much historical accuracy went into the film? Come find out! This is a unique opportunity to meet Andy, hear his stories and get a glimpse into the making of one of the most memorable First World War films.
