Spinning the Dark Side of the Rainbow with Beth Showalter

Have you ever wondered how to add rich depth to the colourful fibre you prepare to spin? About this Event Description : In this hands-on workshop, we will use the colour wheel and bright rainbow colours as our starting point. We will explore how to alter these bright colours with naturally occurring fibre colours (browns, greys, black, white, etc) and other colour principles to create a rich palette of colours. Different approaches for achieving depth will be shared and spinners will receive some prepared colour blends for spinning in the morning. In the afternoon, spinners will design their colour mixing to create depth using a variety of fibre preparation tools. By the end of this workshop, we will have created a rainbow of rich colours with dynamic depth, just like the spinners who prepared them!
