"One Line Premise" Workshop - Sorry! Comedy Fest

This is a powerful workshop to help comedians write strong sketches and stand-up based on a singular one-line premise. About this Event This is a powerful workshop to help comedians write strong sketches and stand-up based on a singular one-line premise. Each student must bring in a one line premise for a comedy sketch like "What if a guy was $10 short of being a millionaire" and the group and I (Kevin McDonald) break down each premise and I will help them see how they can write it as a scene, bit, or story.A bonus feature of this workshop is that students go home and write a comedy sketch from their premise and present to Kevin himself! He will provide feedback on how to strengthen your scene/sketch/story. Comedian, actor, writer and director Kevin McDonald founded "The Kids in the Hall" with friend Dave Foley, after they met in Toronto at Second City, and the television series ran from 1988-1995. In the troupe's television series and stage shows, he portrays several popular recurring characters, such as the King of Empty Promises, Sir Simon Milligan, and Jerry Sizzler.
