Our first concert of the season takes us on a journey through the Romantic era, when composers expanded the expressive possibilities of orchestral music. Bruch s Introduction to The Loreley draws from the Rhine legend of Loreley, the enchanting maiden whose song was said to lure sailors onto the rocks. Schumann s Piano Concerto brings piano and orchestra together as partners in one of the Romantic era s most celebrated concertos.
